Garden State Watercolor Society presents

4th Annual “Small but Mighty” Art Exhibition

Art enthusiasts eagerly anticipate Garden State Watercolor Society’s “Small but Mighty,” the 4th Annual small works art exhibition, to be on display June 12 to July 17 at Farmstead Arts Center, 450 King George Road, Basking Ridge, NJ. For more information contact the Farmstead at 908-636-7576 or by email: admin@farmsteadarts.org.

The exhibit will be posted on YouTube on June 15, with links from Instagram, Facebook and on the websites of https://www.gswcs.org and https://farmsteadartscenter.org.

Fifty-two Garden State Watercolor Society artists submitted a total of 99 small works. Paintings consist of original water media (watercolor, acrylic, gouache, casein, or egg tempera) on paper, Claybord, or Yupo. Artworks measure 10” or less on any side. Paintings in the exhibit were juried for $500 in prizes by Lena Shiffman, children’s book illustrator and watercolor instructor at lenashiffman.com.

An Awards Ceremony will be held on July 17, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the close of the show.

A Plein Air Watercolor Workshop with Jackie Pidgeon-Pankuck, is planned LIVE for Saturday, June 25, with rain date June 26. The event is full. Participating artists are encouraged to paint scenes of the beautifully restored, historic white Dutch Colonial farmhouse, red barn, trees, flowers and fields at the Kennedy Martin Stelle Farmstead, the scenic home of Farmstead Arts Center. For information, please visit: www.gswcs.org.

Funds for this event have been made possible in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, through the State/County Partnership Local Arts Program Grant administered by The Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Commission.
