A Business Venture. I am the owner of Educationally Yours, a privately owned educational consulting firm that specializes in Diagnostic Psycho Educationals, 1-on-1 Tutoring, Resume Building, and Educational Consultation. Our staff is made up of certified teachers, educational consultant, and a licensed psychologist, who will work to gain insights into your child’s strengths and weaknesses and tailor personalized support to align with their distinctive learning style.
When did you decide you wanted to become an education consultant?
I have been in education for over 20 years. Throughout the years, I taught multiple grades both as a general and special education teacher before taking a Learning Consultant position on a Child Study Team. I started Educationally Yours, LLC in the fall of 2022 after navigating my son’s educational journey as well as helping out friends and family. The special education system can be overwhelming and having a strong support system is key. I help families understand the process from start to finish.
What do your specialties include/ What makes Educationally Yours different from other tutoring services?
Our specialty at Educationally Yours is private educational and psychological testing, completed by our licensed psychologist and me, that can help identify a student’s patterns of strengths and weaknesses. I also offer parent consultations that range from reviewing documents, meeting preparation to explaining the educational system. I partner with a certified Orton Gillingham interventionist that offers private tutoring. We also work with students to strengthen their executive functioning skills. What separates Educational Yours from the rest is our experiences working in the schools. We have insight as parents and school providers, giving our clients both perspectives.

If you could give one tip to fellow Mom Entrepreneurs what would it be?
My advice would be to believe in yourself. Don’t let fear or doubt stop you from starting your business and following your dreams.

1 – Favorite thing to do with your kids? Taking our puppy Pressley to Veterans Memorial Park, bike riding, and playing on the playground. My son also said, “The Denville Library.” 🙂

3 – Favorite lunch place? Summit and Main or Millburn Deli (Morristown). I am gluten free and both of these spots make the best GF sandwiches and wraps.
4 – Favorite farm to go fruit picking? We love to go apple picking at Riamede Farm in Chester.
5 – Favorite date night restaurant? The Pasta Shop in Denville. You will thank me! After you put your name in, go across the street to Diamond Spring Brewery and have a drink

8 – Who has the best bagels in town? The Bagerly in Cedar Knolls. My family loves it there!
9 – Best slice of pizza in town? Casa D Pizza-Denville. ‘The Denville’ Gluten Free well done is my go to!
10 – Favorite spot for ice cream? Denville Dairy. Hands down the best vanilla ice cream.
