Meet Geovanna Martucci of One Little Memory Photography! - Morris Bernards Moms

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in the area?
I relocated from Colombia to the United States at the age of 15, settling in Chatham, where I completed my high school education. After pursuing my university studies and meeting my husband, I recognized the significance of being close to our families, which influenced the decision to remain in the area. We currently reside in Whippany.

How old are your Child(ren) and what are their age(s)?
Our oldest daughter Isabel is 5, and our son Giancarlo is 2

Are you involved in a business venture? Can you tell us a little about it?
After taking several years off to raise my children, I am thrilled to announce my return to photography, this time as an independent business dedicated to serving our community.

My journey in photography began in my early twenties when I pursued modeling, which ignited my passion for the camera. To further my knowledge, I attended university, where I studied Fine Arts with a concentration in Studio Photography, complemented by minors in Art History and Early Childhood Education.

Upon graduating, I gained valuable experience by photographing weddings and collaborating with various photographers to enhance my skills. However, my true dream has always been to focus on capturing the essence of children and families. My background in working with children has equipped me with the necessary skills to engage with them effectively, allowing me to combine my passion for photography with my experience.

As I embark on this new venture, One Little Memory Photography, my primary focus is to elevate my business to the next level, and I am committed to establishing a lasting presence in the community.

When did you decide you wanted to become a photographer?
I chose to pursue photography after exploring modeling in my early twenties. This experience ignited my passion for being behind the camera, providing me with valuable insights and knowledge that enhance my ability to work effectively behind the lens.

Have you always worked in the photography industry?
I am currently employed in the corporate healthcare sector, where I have acquired extensive knowledge across various disciplines, fostering continuous learning. I firmly believe that education is one of the most valuable assets an individual can possess, enabling significant personal and professional accomplishments. It serves as a gateway to new opportunities, facilitating further advancement in both life and career.

What is your favorite subject to photograph?
Families and children, indeed

If you could give one tip to fellow Mom Entrepreneurs what would it be?
This is a tough one, while I do not yet consider myself an entrepreneur, I am actively learning the intricacies of my photography craft. After years of uncertainty and self-doubt, I have come to realize that pursuing my passion is essential. I have learned that love for one’s work is important, but dedication and, most importantly, consistency are key factors that contribute to success in any endeavor.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I have a profound passion for singing and believe I possess a decent level of skill; however, I prefer to keep this talent private and would not perform in front of an audience. Music serves as my primary source of inspiration, and I enjoy a diverse range of genres. Additionally, I am deeply passionate about dancing, which further enriches my appreciation for the arts.
