Meet Jessie Elias, Co-Owner and CEO of EatPastry! - Morris Bernards Moms

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in the area?
I was born in New York, but my family and I moved around every two years growing up so I’m not really from anywhere haha! I moved to Mendham in 2021 from San Diego, which is where I lived the longest I’ve lived anywhere.

Child(ren) and Age(s)?
Yes! Girl (6), Boy (3)

Are you involved in a business venture or corporate world? Please Share!
Yes, business venture! I’m the co-owner and CEO of a vegan cookie dough brand called EatPastry.

When did you decide you wanted to open your own edible cookie dough company?
We started in 2007/2008 in San Diego when we realized there wasn’t any vegan cookie dough on the market, and I had a great recipe I’d been making for years. Alfredo and I both have a background in pastry arts (which is what we met doing in NYC).

Has baking and creating always been a part of your life?
Yes! I started baking and creating for my family at a young age. I’ve always found it fun, and neither of my parents were big into baking so someone needed to make the sweets!

Are your kids your #1 recipe tasters?
YES! They’re the most honest people I know.

Of your product line, which one is your favorite?
We used to make an Oatmeal cookie dough that was definitely my fav, but right now I’d say my favorites are the fudge protein bites and the chocolate chip original recipe.

If you could give one tip to fellow Mom Entrepreneurs what would it be?
Advice is nice, but sometimes other people’s opinions or advice can lead you off track. Always trust your intuition!

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I have an obsession with pillows and soft blankets
