Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in the Morris Bernards area?
I was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and have lived in NJ since I was about a year old so I consider myself a Jersey native. I’ve lived in Bernardsville for 7 years now.

I have one beautiful daughter, Isla and she’s 2.5 years old.

I’m the owner and principal designer of Kristin Ashley Interiors which is a full-service interior design firm specializing in residential interiors.
When did you decide you wanted to open your own Interior Design Firm?
I’ve always been creative. My earliest memories are of me drawing and coloring. As a kid I loved dollhouses and by the time I was a teenager, I knew I wanted to be involved in designing homes. I went to college and majored in Fine Arts with a concentration in Interior Design. I worked for a couple of designers out of school and learned a ton of hands-on experience. I then worked in corporate for a few years so I could start my own interior design business on my free time. In 2013 I started the firm and the very next year I was chosen to design a room at Mansion in May which really got my business off and running. I’ve been growing every year since and I’m thankful every
single day that I get to do what I love.
If you could give one tip to fellow Mom Entrepreneurs what would it be?
I think it’s important for fellow Mom Entrepreneurs to believe in yourself and never stop manifesting your dreams. You can’t achieve what you don’t believe!
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I love to sing and will never turn down karaoke!
