Can you share a little about your business venture?
Revive Motherhood creates spaces for mothers of every season to come together, support each other, and rediscover themselves. We offer a range of intentional gatherings, activities, workshops, and support groups tailored to meet the diverse needs of mothers. We are community builders. We are friendship generators. We are family extenders. We give moms a place to find strength, resilience, and much-needed connection. We are passionate about encouraging moms to prioritize themselves!
Revive Motherhood hosts local events that foster community, offering flower-arranging workshops, sip & paint, chef-prepared dinners, lactation/feeding circles with certified lactation consultants, playgroups, educational classes/talks/lectures, hikes, yoga classes, and much more.
When did you decide you wanted to open Revive Motherhood?
We reconnected in the fall of 2021. Kat was newly pregnant with her third child and had just recently moved back to NJ. Maggie had just given birth to her second baby and her postpartum journey was very challenging. Neither of us had found the type of community that we were looking for. We quickly became a support for each other, there for postpartum tenderness, growing families, a heartbreaking miscarriage, and new pregnancies.
Our friendship really inspired the creation of Revive Motherhood. We revived our friendship and in turn, our motherhood journeys. Revive Motherhood is everything we love about our friendship: collective knowledge, understanding, joy, nurturing, laughter, and support.
About a year ago, we decided to more officially create Revive, and we hosted our first events last spring. We have many visions for this business and what we hope to offer in the future.
Is there a membership to join or can Moms just pick and choose the events as they go?
It is free to join, and we encourage everyone to sign up for emails. All of the events can be picked and chosen as they come up. But some such as our Yin & Pins class, and the playgroup are intended to be a series. (However, drop ins are always welcome!)
Has supporting and connecting people (especially Mothers) always been part of your lives ?
On some level, yes, we have both always been connectors, and “mothers” to many of our friends. Maggie has a background in early childhood education, and has been working with families in an educational setting well before she was a mother herself. Kat is a licensed acupuncturist & herbalist, and doula, who has also been specializing in women’s health and family wellness for many years.
For someone looking to get started with Revive Motherhood, what do you recommend?
Visit our website, and sign up for emails! Browse the list of event offerings, and join us. We curate our monthly schedules by offering a variety of gatherings & events, with the intention of meeting the needs of mothers in every season.
As young mom’s ourselves, we know that finding childcare in this season can be really difficult, so we offer some events that you can bring your child along, and others that are designed only for mothers, to take a well-deserved break.
Keep an eye out, as we are always adding new things!
If you could give one tip to fellow Mom Entrepreneurs what would it be?
We always say, JUST DO IT! Leap, and the net will appear. As mothers, we can give ourselves 1 million reasons why we don’t have time to start something or do something for ourselves, but also as mothers, we are SUPER HUMAN and are capable of achieving anything we put our minds to.
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
We first met each other almost 20 years ago when we were both students in Boulder, Colorado. We danced around the edges of the same parties and social groups, but never had a chance to form a strong connection of our own.
15 years, a global pandemic, 2,000 miles, and multiple children later, we found each other in a mother-child class in NJ. Sitting in preschool chairs around a small outdoor table, wearing masks and sewing while our children played happily, we glanced at each other from across the table. Maggie said, “Hey, did you go to CU-Boulder?” And we both pulled down our masks and recognized each other immediately!
