Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?
I grew up in Poland and moved to America in 1999. I’ve been in Randolph since 2005

Two children- Samantha (8) and Jack (6)
Favorite things to do with your kids?
My kids love to be outside whether it’s riding their bikes, or skateboards, or just play with their friends. We also enjoy our local lake beach in the summer. On rainy days when we cannot get out we love doing crafts, build with Legos or do puzzles!

I am the owner and principal photographer of Monika de Myer Photography. I specialize in weddings and lifestyle photography- family portraits, maternity, as well as fashion and beauty.
If you could give one tip to fellow Mom Entrepreneurs what would it be?
Good time management and separating your work and family time ( I am still working on that…)
Also, not being afraid to say ‘no’ to people or certain projects. I often felt like I bit off more than I could chew because I didn’t want to say no. Every minute spent away from your family needs to be worth it (not to sound harsh) so value your time and focus on projects that bring you joy, help your business move forward, and are worth your while.
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I can sew, crochet and knit. All self-thought. I am also very handy- house painting, assembling furniture, installing shelves, etc. Oh, and I can drive a stick shift.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
Being part of a community is so important when running your own business, especially when being a ‘solo-preneur’. I don’t think I would be where I am today without the support of my colleagues, vendor-friends, and my wonderful clients. Word of mouth has been one of the best forms of marketing for me.
