Meet Sofia Saieh-Kuczynski, Founder of Grounded Together! | Morris Bernards Moms

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in the area?
I was born in Port-au-Prince Haiti. I moved to the United States at the age of seven years old where I bebopped around New York and New Jersey. I met my husband and we moved to Union New Jersey. We bought our first house in Middlesex County and later moved to Randolph in 2020 where we reside now with our beautiful little and my mother-in-law.

Child(ren) and Age(s)?
Our son Liam is three years old and our daughter Peyton just turned two in October!

Are you involved in a business venture or corporate world? Please Share!
A business venture! I am the owner of Ground Together®. Ground Together® is based on the idea of re-shaping the parent and child dynamic with particular attention on the parent energy level and its contribution to children’s behavior.

So what is a Certified Heart Approach Trainer Exactly?
As a Certified Nurtured Heart Approach Trainer I participated in a weeklong intensive training with Howard Glaser. This initiative has impacted children greatly through its perspective on parental praise and recognition.

When did you decide you wanted to become a Social Worker and Heart Approach Trainer?
My intention was always to save the world! Finding a way to be a good human in a chaotic world could be so difficult. I became a Social Worker because I love working with people and continue to wear the title proudly. Becoming a Nurtured Heart Approach Trainer assisted me in gaining an additional tool in my toolbox to assist parents and children. I was hearing the language “bad kid” often and don’t believe children are “bad”. I love highlighting the importance of nature versus nurture and its impact on our parental dynamic.

Has helping families always been a part of your life?
I love helping people! Something as simple as an act of kindness can really change someone’s day around. I’m extremely determined to assist families with shaping our future leaders. We need more kind and empathetic leaders!

If someone is looking to get started with Grounded Together, where should they start?
I’m currently in the process of developing my website. Anyone can feel free to reach out to me via email at [email protected].

If you could give one tip to fellow Mom Entrepreneurs what would it be?
That mama gut has never failed! If that gut is telling you to start something you go for it!

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
Most of my adolescent experience was in the hospital as I had multiple surgeries on my right leg and foot. It’s where I truly learned the importance of shifting my energy as a way to deal with pain.
