I love a good theme park, and the new LEGOLAND New York is a great day for family fun! Read my top FIVE tips below to help you navigate your way around the latest theme park in our area!
TIP #1: MAKE IT A DAY TRIP
LEGOLAND New York is about an hour away from the center of Morristown, so it’s absolutely perfect for a day trip. The park itself is open seasonally and the Hotel, which is steps away from the front entrance is, opened on an even more limited schedule. Park hours vary by day, but when we went in May it was from 10am – 6pm on a Saturday. The theme park itself is not huge, and we were able to get in almost everything!
TIP #2: PACK A LUNCH
Although you can purchase food and snacks throughout LEGOLAND NY, you are allowed to pack small coolers with nonalcoholic drinks, food snacks etc.So I highly recommend doing this, as food is expensive, especially when feeding a family of five like mine, however, if you’re an annual pass holder, you’ll get 20% off food (and they don’t actually check your pass holder ID…hint hint) For a full list of what you can and can’t bring in click HERE.
TIP #3: DRESS APPROPRIATELY
You enter the park at the top of a pretty big hill, which you will have to walk down to get to some attractions and then back up again. There was limited shade, and we went on a 90 degree day, so dress in comfortable shoes, cool clothing (that you don’t mind getting wet) and pack lots of sunscreen!
TIP #4: AGE GROUP
Each “land” has different themes and matches up with the different Lego brands such as City, Ninjago, Duplo etc. In my opinion, LEGOLAND NY is perfect for ages 3-10 with something for everyone to do. You can visit the website HERE for a full list of the rides and attractions. They were also in the process of creating a water park area, which would be a great addition for those hot summer days!
TIP#5: PLAN AHEAD!
Remember when you purchase your tickets for LEGOLAND NY, you must also make a reservation for the specific day you want to attend. So be sure to plan ahead so that day isn’t sold out. Burger King is also offering a discount code, for kids to enter for FREE with a paid adult you can visit the website HERE and enter code 22207 to claim the offer (expires 12/31/2022)! Just remember to book each adult/ child combo separately – I didn’t do that and got in trouble at the entrance – whoops!
