Together Again – Our Weekend at Woodloch Resort | Morris Bernards Moms

Masks are coming off, families are gathering and we’re getting back together again. What better way to celebrate than a weekend away having some good old fashioned family fun. As a mom of three, I love a drivable destination. It makes planning less stressful for me as I don’t have to worry about rental cars (and car seats!) and they are easy enough for a long weekend away and change of scenery. My family and I spent the weekend at Woodloch Resort in Hawley, PA where you can dine, stay and play – and boy did we do all three! Read my tips below to help you plan your next family get away to this special hidden gem!

1 – Accommodations: Woodloch offers something for everyone, including an adults only spa, vacation rentals (both on and off resort property) and a resort hotel. We stayed in a suite at the hotel, which was really convenient for us, as we like to go back and forth to the room in between activities. The 1 bedroom suite, had 2 queen beds, a pull out sleeper sofa, 2 full bathrooms, 2 closets, mini fridge, coffee maker, balcony and lake view! The rooms had enough space for all of us and the dual bathrooms really came in handy when we were getting ready for dinner!

2 – Meal Plan: The resort can be as all inclusive as you would like it to be, which makes it great for families or large groups. We were on the 3 meal plan, which provides you with a complete sit down meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The fun part is, that you have an assigned table for the length of your stay, so you really become friendly with the staff (and the people sitting next to you!). The food was delicious, and there is such an assortment of options for every diet, that you will not leave hungry. Pro Tip: you can even order pastries to go (the coffee cake is amazing!)

3 – Activities: Woodloch has non stop activities that is fun for kids (and adults) of all ages! Each morning at the breakfast table you’ll receive your activities sheet for the day, all of which are included in your stay. We lucked out and had a perfect weather weekend and were able to enjoy so much outdoor fun. We went on a boat ride, swam, hiked, did bumper cars (and boats!), played mini golf (and won the tournament!), drove go karts, did an adventure climb and even enjoyed the petting zoo. If the weather isn’t ideal, don’t worry – there is plenty to still do including the indoor pools, arcade, kids room, arts and crafts and more! The grounds them self surround a beautiful lake, which makes it ideal for going for walks with the family in between all the fun.

4 – Entertainment: After dinner we went down to the night club and enjoyed a musical show with songs ranging from Billy Joel to Moana. Every aspect of the resort, including the entertainment is family friendly and my kids loved it (as did we). Most of the entertainers were family and had been putting on the show for 40 years! After the musical show the was even a comedian to end the night.
